E-Verify in Oregon
Not mandatory for private employers statewide. Oregon has not enacted a broad E-Verify mandate. Some state contracts may require E-Verify.
Professional licensing
Oregon requires each professional licensing board to study the manner in which persons who are immigrants or refugees become licensed, certified or otherwise authorized in the occupational or professional service the board regulates, and to develop and implement methods to reduce barriers to licensure, certification or other authorization for applicants who may be immigrants or refugees. Boards may adopt rules to carry out these requirements. §ORS 670.409
PERM labor certification
For permanent employment-based green cards, most employers must complete the PERM labor certification process through the Department of Labor, demonstrating that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the position §8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(5).
